- Experience in managing staff, absence, sickness, negotiating with clinicians re clinics, theatres sessions and operational issues is essential to this role as is working with a wide range of clinical specialities.
- You will play a key role in the operational support of the Business Unit, working closely with Lead Clinicians, Managers and staff to ensure co-ordination of waiting lists and timely scheduling of theatre and clinic activity in order to meet activity targets.
- You will be required to ensure the effective delivery of services by providing leadership, support and guidance on operational related issues to both clinical and non-clinical staff. Leading on appraisals, recruitment, ensuring that appropriate training is delivered to staff, reviewing work performance and progress.

- Educated to Degree Level or Equivalent or relevant years experience
- Experience working in a Senior Administration Role Including day to day supervision of a group of staff
- Able to prioritise work and escalate problems
- Ability to work o own initiative, proritise workload according to service needs
- Experience of line management
- Advanced level of IT literacy with experience of using a range of IT applications such as Lorenzo / Ormis
- Understanding and knowledge of the 18-week RTT process, the Trust Patient Access Policy and inpatient waiting lists
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Educated to Degree Level or Equivalent or relevant years experience

Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join our Maternity and Gynaecology Management team as the Band 5 Operational Coordinator.
This is an exciting but extremely varied and diverse operational coordinator role for someone wishing to gain operational management experience.
The Operational Coordinator line manages the Medical Staffing Administrator and Medical Secretaries. The role is based at RDH with a small team of admin staff based at FNCH in the Sexual Health Services. You will work closely with the Service Manager, the Deputy General Managers, General Manager, Clinical Governance Facilitator and Matrons in the day-to-day management of activity.
