      Purpose of the position:

      This position provides operational support to assigned department (s) staff, ensuring the maintenance of the necessary physical workspaces, supplies, and equipment.

      Minimum Education, Training, and Experience (required at time of hire): High School diploma/GED and four (4) years of experience in office management, light construction, purchasing, or maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.

      Essential Functions of the Position:

      • Maintain an inventory of office supplies and equipment and allocate supplies to staff as needed.
      • Assist and coordinate moves for staff and departments as requested.
      • Assist with workspace setup, including equipment assembly and installation, that includes information technology equipment.
      • Receive, manage, and process work order requests, purchasing card requests, and verifications or invoices; ensure problems are resolved quickly.
      • Ensure supplies requested are shipped, received at the loading dock, and delivered.
      • Ensure all assigned workspaces and areas are clean and presentable.
      • Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule and conduct inspections to coordinate the maintenance and repair of assigned facilities and physical assets; Maintain records and reports of all work done in assigned facilities.
      • Responsiveness to changing work priorities and accomplishing assigned tasks.
      • Prioritize and schedule support services, such as transporting materials/furnishings, related to staffing changes, relocations, and facility expansions.
      • Assist with collecting cost information from various vendors and present recommendations to the supervisor.
      • Ensure facility compliance with agency Safety and Security Policy.
      • Ability to lift to 50 pounds routinely.
      • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

      • Knowledge of practices and procedures involved in managing facilities and security.
      • Knowledge of supply and inventory control practices.
      • Ability to diagnose problems with equipment or working spaces; arrange for repair.
      • Ability to maintain courteous and diplomatic relationships with co-workers, the general public, and guests of the county
      • Ability to take prompt and effective action to include emergencies

All new employees are paid according to their years of relevant education and experience above minimum requirements for the position and employees have the opportunity to obtain pay increases via cost of living increases and promotions.
