      The Opportunity:

      Job Description

      In general, this position will be responsible for the following:

      • Support the team responsible for implementing best practice Epic strategy across both operations and IT
      • Manage projects and tasks associated with Epic Optimization
      • Learn Epic to be able to organize and triage Epic build changes

      Work with Revenue Cycle leaders on prioritizing projects in areas such as the following:

      • Denial reduction
      • DNFB/CFB reduction
      • Late charge reduction
      • Registration accuracy
      • Scheduling accuracy
      • Authorization capture
      • Coding accuracy

      Overall productivity improvement

      Project Management/Follow Up/Task Organization:

      • Works collaboratively with revenue cycle leadership and the Epic Optimization to establish Epic Optimization priorities.
      • Develops, with participation of revenue cycle leadership and IT, project plans and timelines for large performance improvement projects
      • Tracks status of projects and follows up when tasks are not completed
      • Escalates concerns to leadership. Monitors key performance indicators and tracks return on investment

      System Build and Support:

      • Obtains Epic certification and keeps up with continuing education requirements
      • Takes initiative to understand Epic functionality and how operations can leverage Epic to drive performance
      • Participates in Integrated and User Acceptance Testing

      Education:

      • Assists the education department in the development of training materials, curriculum and tip sheets related to Epic.
      • Performs direct observations in operational areas and makes note of any areas of educational opportunity.
      • Supports revenue cycle leadership in any Epic certification processes.
      • Strives to educate revenue cycle leadership in practical Epic system knowledge to build expertise in operations.

      New Business Support:

      • Assists with assessments by documenting and organizing findings.
      • Assists in development of materials to support sales, including marketing materials.

      Communication and Documentation:

      • Produces high-quality materials for internal and external use.
      • Uses Microsoft tools to develop and update status reports regularly.
      • Assists in development of weekly/monthly status reports of projects and ensures agreed upon timelines are met.

      Required Minimum Education:

      4 year/ Bachelors Degree

      Preferred Education:

      4 year/ Bachelors Degree

      Licensure/Certification Required:

      Must obtain Epic Administrator Certification within first six months of employment. Must pass the Certified Revenue Cycle Representative Examination offered through Healthcare Financial Management Association within 6 months of hire, unless already certified.

      Minimum Years and Type of Experience:

      1-2 years of job experience in Epic revenue cycle functions, in either PB, HB or Patient Access

      Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

      While we do not expect this position to require 100% travel, we do expect that the coordinator will need to travel periodically. For this reason, the coordinator should be available to travel up to 50%.

      Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

      Extensive experience with Microsoft products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Working knowledge of the hospital revenue cycle operations
