Job Description

- Assist with developing production schedules that align with customer demand, production capacity, and inventory levels
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement in production planning processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and analyze performance metrics for continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in meetings with production planning team to provide updates on progress and discuss any issues or challenges
- Assist with creating and maintaining production planning documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and process maps
- Work on special projects as assigned by the production planning manager or other senior team members
- Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations to the production planning team
- Flexible Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
- Duration of Internship: 6 months
- Work hours: 20+ Hours willing to work with school schedule. Established schedule at offer.

- Must be able to work onsite.
- The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership.
- Presently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in operations science, industrial engineering, or a related field
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Able to support 20+ hours
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirement
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to conduct statistical analyses and identify trends in complex data sets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Visual Basics, and other data analysis tools
- Knowledge of production planning principles and techniques, including scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and analysis in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Job Summary
We are seeking an Operations Science Intern to support our production planning team at GKN. The Operations Science Intern will work closely with production planning to ensure efficient production schedules and maximize production capacity. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in operations science principles, including optimization, statistics, and data analysis.
