Operations Department - Training in a skilled trade such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing sufficient to perform assigned duties and troubleshoot/diagnose system malfunctions
- Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and operations of school district facilities
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to perform assigned duties in challenging conditions that may require exposure to the elements, climbing a ladder, or crawling in confined spaces
- Valid Illinois Driver's License
- Alternatives to the above requirements as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
- Previous maintenance experience preferred
- Performs general repair and maintenance tasks pertaining to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire, burglar, and other building systems as assigned.
- Conducts periodic maintenance inspections according to assigned schedule.
- Monitors all work orders and responds to them in a timely manner, per District procedure.
- Assists with the assembly and maintenance of fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Ensures that equipment, work areas, and vehicles are neat, clean, and orderly; and promptly reports damange and/or hazards to the Director of Operations or designee.
- Performs emergency repairs and cleaning as assigned.
- Participates in snow removal efforts as assigned.
- Utilizes safe work practices, and properly utilizes personal protective equipment when necessary.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION: $21.00 Per Hour plus benefits.
*Please note that the hourly rate of pay is inclusive of the mandatory 4.5% retirement contribution to the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).

QUALIFICATIONS:GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
To provide for a safe and functional environment that is conducive to learning by performing various skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the operation and maintenance of school buildings and grounds as directed by the Director and Assistant Director of Operations.
