Job Description

- Reviews and enforces policies and procedures, institutes and evaluates employee training
- Monitors and provides feedback about employee performance, attendance, punctuality and general compliance with requirements
- Assists in providing adequate and competent staffing of the facility
- Reviews all reports to ensure proper equipment maintenance and work efficiency
- Participates in investigating incidents, accidents, "near-misses," etc.
- Coordinates with crews on the receiving, unloading, and loading of barges
- Assist in coordinating the switching of all railcars
- Ensures that employees maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Coordinates barge and railcar schedules with customers
- Review and distribute barge nominations and schedule specific inventories for loading/unloading
- Review, edit, update and finalize all barge paperwork upon completion
- Organizes and executes site procurement
- Works with production crew as necessary to relieve employees or increase production
- Organizes and maintains technical data relating to facility operations and maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
The Operations Supervisor provides direct supervision to assigned employees and performs as a site supervisor on nights and weekends. Coordinates daily tasks with Terminal Leadership and Nucor. Supports Terminal Manager in establishing and meeting goals and objectives for the terminal.
Position job title and level will be assigned depending on the qualifications, skill sets and experience of the successful candidate.
