Job summary
In this role the right candidate will bring a strategic and hands-on approach to managing the daily operations of a GP surgery. With a strong focus on efficiency, compliance, and long-term value, to oversee all aspects of estates and facilities management including maintenance, health and safety, procurement, and space planningwhile ensuring smooth operational performance across departments.
This role bridges strategic planning with practical execution, enabling the organisation to function effectively, safely, and sustainably. To thrive in dynamic environments were optimising systems, enhancing service delivery, and leading cross-functional teams are key to long-term success.

Supporting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
Providing leadership and guidance to all staff ensuring that they adhere to policy and procedure at all times.

The Operations/Estate Manager is responsible for:
Supporting the Practice Manager in the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
Providing leadership and guidance to all staff ensuring that they adhere to policy and procedure at all times.
Implementing systems to ensure compliance with CQC regulations and standards.
Evaluating, organising and overseeing the staff induction programme.
Maintain full building maintenance, premises and all equipment.
Accountable for Health & Safety of the building and staff, ensuring risk assessments are carried out.
Building, premises and equipment contracts/leases/development.
Ordering stock
Assisting with the management of the clinical system, ensuring IT security and IG compliance at all times and responding to and resolving all local IT issues.
Actively encouraging and promoting the use of patient online services.
Reviewing and updating clinical templates ensuring they relate to current practice.
Marketing the practice appropriately to ensure patient population is stable or increasing.
Managing contracts for and highlighting issues with services i.e., cleaning, gardening, window cleaning etc.
Ensuring the staff implement the practice wide approach to the management of all patient services matters.
