      JOB SUMMARY:
      We are currently seeking an Operator for our Contour Global Trinity Power Ltd. Plant in Trinidad and
      Tobago. The position will be responsible for monitoring the operating conditions of the generating plant
      and balance of plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner as directed by the Lead Shift Operator
      and in accordance with prudent Lead Shift Operator practices and safety rules.
      The position will report hierarchically to the Operations Team Lead

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
      • Provide support for the Lead Shift Operator as required for Lead Shift Operator.
      • Under the supervision of the Lead Shift Operator starts up, controls and shuts down systems
      and equipment in the Plant in accordance with operating procedures (normal and emergency
      operations).
      • Continually monitor temperatures, vibrations, currents, voltages, noise, power, pressures, flows
      and make adjustments and record as required the equipment performance data including
      lubricating oils, Closed Circuit Circulating Cooling Water, Reverse Osmosis Plant, Waste Water
      Treatment Plant and other equipment associated with the generation of electricity by gas
      turbines.
      • Perform preventative maintenance functions and assist maintenance staff as required by
      CMMS system or any other process assigned to execute work.
      • Under supervision increase and decrease load on generators. Exception for incumbents that
      have undergone specialized training on Mark V controls.
      • Complete all log sheets required for the Lead Shift Operators.
      • Operates the makeup water equipment system. Take samples and carry out basic water
      chemistry.
      • Under supervision assist in electrical switching operations. Exception for incumbents that have
      undergone specialized training on T&TEC switching.
      • Under supervision isolate the plant systems or equipment in accordance with the
      Tagout/Lockout procedure.
      • Participate in the testing of plant systems and equipment in a safe and efficient manner as
      directed.
      • Report alarms that are sounded in the control room from the Delta V, Speedtronic Mark V/ HMI
      controls and Transmission lines. Take action if trained to do so and authorized in writing by
      Trinity Power.
      • Be able to answer radio and telephone communications and supply the requested information
      or direct the messages for appropriate action in the absence of the Lead Shift Operator.
      • Change the fuel gas charts daily and submit to collection point for GNC.
      • Report Plant defects promptly to the Lead Shift Operator, raise work request on the CMMS
      system and record the defects on the Plant log sheets.
      • Become knowledgeable in all Site Procedures, Environmental Compliance Program, and other
      procedures for Power Plant Operations.
      • Work overtime as Plant conditions necessitate.
      • Participate in onsite and off the job training as required.
      • Maintain Plant working area in a clean and neat condition; performing regular cleaning of
      assigned equipment.
      • Responsible to immediate supervisor for compliance with the Company’s Environmental
      Compliance Program and that all reasonable precautions have been taken to prevent incidents
      of noncompliance. Incumbent shall further be responsible to immediately report to their
      supervisor any known or suspected violations to the environmental program or any situation
      they suspect could lead to a violation.
      • Responsible to maintain confidentiality of all information available to the position.
      • Perform all other duties and responsibilities assigned by the immediate supervisor to this
      position, but not specifically stated in this description.
      • Proper personal hygiene is required by all employees.

      QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
      • A National Technician’s Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical
      Engineering with one year experience in power plant operations, or equivalent or at least four
      Ordinary Levels at Cambridge/ London Examination or CXC grades 1 or 2 in Physics,
      Chemistry, English Language and Mathematics and five years experience in power plant
      operations or equivalent.
      • Must possess highest level of integrity and trustworthiness.
      • Must be trained in the techniques of power plant operation.
      • Must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. of weight.
      • Must be physically capable of climbing stairs and ladders.
      • Must be physically capable of entering and working in a confined space.
      • Must have eyesight corrected to 20/40 to accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges.
      • Must be physically capable to pass a respirator physical and respirator fit test.
      • Must be physically capable to hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise
      levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication.
      • Good, legible handwriting.
      • Valid driver’s license is required.
      • Must be computer literate.
      • Must be able to personally respond to plant emergencies.
      • Must be physically capable of working a 12-hour rotating shift.
      • Will be required to know basic first aid practices.
      • Qualify as a fork truck operator.

      Travel Requirements – This position will require occasional business trips.
