      Heavy Equipment Operator

      Heavy Equipment Operator

      Responsible for operating heavy equipment used for moving or grading earth, applying concrete, asphalt and other materials.

      Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Operate equipment under general supervision.
      • Could operate Graders, roller booms, dozers, scrapers, blades, loaders etc.
      • Move levers, depress foot pedals and turn dials to operator power machinery, such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders and backhoes
      • Inspect equipment for safety issues daily and determine if any parts are malfunctioning.
      • Cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment.
      • Understand the use of equipment in various jobs
      • Complete job tickets, service quality summaries, and all other necessary paperwork.
      • Lift, position and place machinery, equipment or other large objects at construction sites and industrial facilities.
      • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
      • Take actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects.
      • Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machines.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications Required for this Position:

      Education – no minimum education requirements.

      Certification / License: State issued Driver’s License and TWIC

      Experience – 3-5 years of operating equipment in an Industrial setting.
