  ABOUT WESSELS:

  The South Africa Manganese operation can be found in the manganese rich Kalahari Basin, in the country’s Northern Cape, which is home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese. This position is based at our Wessels Mine which represents one of the largest manganese reserves in South Africa.

  WHAT SOUTH32 OFFER:

  ABOUT THE ROLE:

  This role is a permanent full-time position.

  As an Operator Scaler , you will be responsible to make working faces safe by means of a Scaler.

  Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Scaling of Hanging wall and sidewalls by means of a Scaler;

  • Conducting pre starts on the mentioned TMM;

  • Any other duties that requires the use of the Scaler;

  • General housekeeping and upholding of standards;

  • Instill section 22 and 23 of the mine Health and safety.

  ABOUT YOU:

  You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year working experience in a mining environment;

  • Applicants must submit the following documents to be considered:

  • Copies of qualifications

  • A brief CV.

  Qualifications for this role are:

  • Grade 12 with mathematics;

  • Mobile equipment license;

  • Valid drivers license.
