- Two-year degree in Process Technology is preferred

- Analyze specifications and control continuous operation of petroleum refining and processing units.
- Operate control to regulate temperature, pressure, rate of flow, and tank level in petroleum refining unit, according to process schedules.
- Read and analyzes specifications, schedules, logs and test results to determine changes to equipment controls required to produce specified product.
- Observe instruments, gauges, and meters to verify conformance to specified quality and quantity of product.
- Inspects equipment and performs troubleshooting to determine location and nature of malfunction, such as leaks and breakage.
- Repair, lubricate and maintain equipment or report malfunctioning equipment to supervisor to schedule needed repairs.
- Compile and record operating data, instrument reading, documents and results of laboratory analyses.
- Operates auxiliary equipment and controls multiple processing units during distilling or treating operations.
- Monitor and adjust unit controls to ensure safe and efficient operating conditions.
- Operate control panel to coordinate and regulate process variables and to direct product flow rate, according to prescribed schedules.
- Gain experience in the assigned area in order to progress to an Operator position when made available
- Must attend, complete, and pass all in-house training and testing in order to progress to an Operator position as positions become available

POSITION SUMMARY
The primary duties of the position include operating, maintaining and repairing refinery equipment. Operators perform various duties required to keep their assigned area safe and within production standards. Operators also handle emergency situations, monitor and troubleshoot equipment and work 12 hour rotating shifts including weekend and holidays.
