      Job Description

      BAE Systems, one of the world's largest Defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring an Operations Program Manager for our Chemical Manufacturing operations at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Radford, VA. This role will work with the Value Steam Leadership and Manufacturing to monitor Operations schedules, track costs, aid in proposal preparations and approvals, interface with the customers, present program status to leadership, and other duties as assigned.

      Responsibilities:

      • Work with cross-functional stakeholders (Manufacturing, Finance, etc.) to ensure the production schedule is maximizing available resources and aligning with our business plan
      • Manage rolling 12-18 month production schedules for associate programs, ensuring availability for pricing new business, internal financial forecast, headcount forecasts, etc.
      • Work with Manufacturing counterpart to develop detailed metrics and shop floor goals that will meet IBP/QBR forecasts
      • Ensure there is capacity for proposed work and availability in the production schedule
      • Serve as first level BAE Systems point of contact for customer on assigned programs
      • When necessary, develop talking points to explain to customers the reason for pricing that is not meeting their expectations or significantly out of line with historical information
      • Support development of BOE, along with manufacturing and price estimating
      • Assist in RBA process for existing programs, firm, follow-on, etc.
      • Provide regular reports to the Value Steam Leader on program status

      • Experience in working in a matrix environment
      • Experience in program management, program controls, or lifecycle management (LCM)
      • Experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple projects concurrently
      • Experience in presenting work output to all levels of management
      • Ability to monitor, analyze, and report on performance through KPIs and metrics
      • Ability to identify risks and opportunity and implement mitigation or contingency plans
      • Ability to build relationships with customers and instill confidence in business capabilities
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
      • Strong presentation skills
      • Strong computer application skills

      Preferred Skills and Education

      • Degree in Engineering, Science, or Finance
      • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)
      • Experience in Energetics, Munitions, Defense Articles
      • Experience in Cost Account Management (CAM) or Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
      • Experience in Manufacturing with an understanding of production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing
      • Experience in data analytics, data visualization, metrics building, including in Power BI
      • Experience in SQL databases, programming, advanced data manipulation
