      JOB DESCRIPTION

      The Operations Specialist – DTC Settlements is responsible for executing and overseeing the settlement of security trades through the Depository Trust Company (DTC). This role focuses on daily processing of equities, corporate fixed income, and commercial paper trades, ensuring timely and accurate trade settlement, issue resolution, and high-quality client service.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Trade Settlement:
        • Process all deliver and receive orders for equities, corporate bonds, and commercial paper trades clearing through DTC.
        • Adhere strictly to all daily deadlines.
      • Trade Verification & Reconciliation:
        • Verify trade details (e.g., account number, quantity, CUSIP) against broker data using the Sonic system.
        • Identify and resolve discrepancies in order information (e.g., DTC reclaims).
      • Volume & Exception Management:
        • Manage daily transaction volume.
        • Escalate high-value or problematic trades to management as necessary.
      • Client & Counterparty Communication:
        • Communicate professionally via email and phone with internal teams, clients, and external counterparties.
        • Deliver superior client service by effectively resolving trade issues and minimizing operational risk.
      • Reporting & Metrics:
        • Contribute to management reporting by providing work volume statistics and exception trends.
      • Process Improvement & Team Collaboration:
        • Seek efficiency gains to improve productivity.
        • Actively participate in team meetings and firm-wide process improvement initiatives.
        • Develop a broad understanding of how your function impacts overall firm operations.

      Required Skills & Qualifications:

      • Strong PC proficiency (Microsoft Office suite).
      • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
      • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to identify, escalate, and resolve issues promptly.
      • Time management skills; ability to prioritize under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
      • Proven ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
      • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach.
