      The State University of New York College of Optometry is seeking applicants for a full time Optometrist at NYC Health + Hospitals Woodhull Medical Center located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York and is part of the New York City Health and Hospital Corporation. The Eye + Vision Services department is staffed by a collaborative team of optometrists, ophthalmologists, and ophthalmic technicians and is fully outfitted with state-of-the-art ophthalmic equipment.
      As a direct care provider, the OD will participate in the effective and efficient delivery of the highest quality eye and vision care consistent with the mission and vision of both the SUNY College of Optometry and NYC Health + Hospitals. The OD may also assist in the supervision of students during externship rotation assigned in the fourth professional year. The OD will hold an appropriate faculty rank within the SUNY College of Optometry and will be a member of the medical staff of Woodhull.
      The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a desire to collaborate with colleagues in an interprofessional setting, and the ability to assess and manage ocular and visual health for patients of all ages and backgrounds. Previous experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred. Requirements include a Doctor of Optometry degree, the successful completion of an optometric residency program, and a license to practice optometry in New York State prior to employment.

      A competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience, will be provided. This position may include evenings and some Saturdays. The expected start date is September 2023. Salary with range between $110,000 and $120,000 plus benefits. 15 days of annual leave to start and 13 paid holidays per year.
