What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform research to advance the state of the art in AI and ML
- Implement algorithms and evaluate their performance on healthcare data
- Communicate results across an interdisciplinary team to improve healthcare outcomes
- Document research internally and externally, including publications in machine learning conferences and journals
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in a related field
- Experience in implementing and training machine learning algorithms
- Deep understanding of mathematical foundations of machine learning
- Programming competence in Python, R, Java, C++, Matlab, or another modern programming language
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow, etc.
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Within 1-2 years of PhD degree completion
- First author publications in prestigious computer science conferences or medical journals
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary environment
- Knowledge and experience working with genomic data, wearables, or medical records data
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
