      Overview

      The following actions are the PCT's job responsibilities within the OR.

      • Assists the Clinical team in providing indirect patient care, plus has nonpatient care responsibilities to include but not limited to:
      • Room turnover: includes taking out the trash, cleaning all areas of the OR, including the OR table, making the table up, and mopping the floor
      • Gathering equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases
      • Changing OR tables when necessary
      • Room set up: setting up the entire OR room for the next case or first case of the day; this includes making the bed, having necessary equipment in the room positioned appropriately for the case
      • Taking specimens to the lab
      • Take returns to CSP and put returns away that live in the OR upstairs.
      • PCT will be on your feet, the entire shift, so comfortable, supportive footwear is needed.

      Experience Required

      Acute Care Hospital experience preferred (i.e.: Nursing Assistant, Unit Secretary, PCS, etc.)

      Visual and auditory acuity for information retrieval and computer monitor use.

      Education Requirements

      High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

      License/Certification Requirements

      American Heart Association BLS
