Job summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our busy Orthotic service based at our Darent Valley Hospital site. They may also be required to assist with the administration and day-to-day Orthotic service at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup on an ad hoc basis.
They should have excellent customer service skills, good PC skills and experience of working in a busy office environment.
The post holder will be assisting in the smooth running of our daily Orthotic, Lymphoedema and Prosthesis clinics. As part of the team, they will be greeting patients, dealing with face to face and telephone enquiries, processing orders, processing referrals, maintaining stock levels, processing invoices as well as the day-to-day management of clinic diaries for Orthotics, Lymphoedema and Prosthesis.

This role is being separated into two part-time roles of 22.5 hrs per week and 15 hrs per week.

Main duties of the job
1.1 The Orthotic service provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment to a diverse range of conditions and patient types. Orthotic management includes assessment for and prescription of an Orthotic device where appropriate, or advice on different treatment options where not appropriate to allow the patient to regain function following surgery, illness, injury, dysfunction or disease.
The Orthotic service also manages the Lymphoedema and Prosthesis services.
As a member of the Orthotic & Lymphoedema Team, the post holder will participate in the administration and organisation of the day-to-day Orthotic service at Darent Valley Hospital, and may be required to assist with the administration at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.

1.4 Liaise directly with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of appliances / orthoses.
1.5 Assist with the checking of appliances on receipt from the supply company to ensure they meet safety, quality and delivery standards.
1.6 Assist with processing of invoices.
1.7 Collect prescription charges from patients.
1.8 Assist with the booking of patient appointments for multiple clinic sessions.
1.9 Ensure patient records are stored appropriately, whether written or on the computer.
1.10 Book transport when appropriate and liaise with ambulance services and other organisations.
1.11 Receive patients when they attend the clinic, keeping them updated of their progress.
1.12 Liaise with GPs and surgery staff ensuring that queries, referrals and treatment can be dealt with in a timely manner.
