Geisinger's Neuroscience Institute is seeking out-patient tele-neurologists to join our growing team.Job Duties:
Are you an experienced neurologist looking for a new career opportunity without the need to relocate? Geisinger is seeking experienced neurologists to join our team and work remotely. We are looking for physicians who want to become fully integrated into our practice and help us manage our increasing demand for new patient visits. These are not short-term or locums positions. This is an out-patient position with no hospital coverage or nighttime call. You will be seeing out-patients remotely either in their homes or one of our clinics (via a tele-cart). Most patients will be new referrals.
The ideal candidate will be adept at making initial evaluations and planning next steps for our newly referred patients. Some patients will need a diagnostic evaluation and one or two follow-up visits to resolve their condition. Others will need long-term follow-up or in-person care and will be handed off to appropriate subspecialty providers.
You will be assigned to one of our service regions where you will get to know the local referrers and neurologists. Your patients have access to a full gambit of local in-person services, such as ophthalmology (for fundus exams), radiology, neurophysiology, neuropsychology, neurosurgery, physical therapy and rehabilitation. You will be treated as if you were here in person, with orientation, attendance at regular staff meetings, participation in teaching our learners and enjoying vacation time and CME activities to advance your career.
Medical students from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine rotate through the clinic, and Geisinger has two neurology residencies, so there are ample opportunities for teaching. Faculty appointments and more formal roles in education are available for qualified candidates.
