- Earning a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
- Students must be continuing education towards degree during and/or after the internship
- Must have a valid driver’s license or obtain one at least 30 days prior to start date
- 3.0 GPA or greater in both cumulative GPA and major GPA
- Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction
- Familiar with website development

Position Summary
Outage Management is responsible for safe, reliable, and continuous operations: by scoping, planning, preparing, and executing refueling and forced outages. Objective of refueling outage management is to refuel the reactor, perform surveillance tests, meet licensing commitments, perform necessary corrective and preventive maintenance, and perform plant modifications to improve unit availability and reliability. Objective of forced outage management is to identify and correct the cause of the outage, minimize the duration of the outage, and perform other staged work to the extent it can be accomplished within the parameters of the forced duration. Outage management is looking for a talented summer intern to help support planning and preparing for future refueling outages. Outage management utilizes milestones to drive the following initiatives:
The successful intern will have the opportunity to lead and/or support activities as described above working with a team of experienced personnel. Additionally, the intern will gain knowledge of the operation of Diablo Canyon Power Plant through the work they will be performing.
PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
