      JOB SUMMARY

      The PUA outdoor customer service representative provides superior customer service, checkout, and loading assistance to customers. The position involves a high level of physical activity working with customers in our seasonally busy, outdoor, wholesale horticulture store.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      • Greet customers and provide necessary directions to store locations and sales personnel.
      • Answer customer questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.
      • Utilize handheld scanner and Point of Sale (POS) system to scan, itemize, and total customer merchandise selection at checkout.
      • Bag and/or pack all customer items efficiently, neatly, and in compliance with Company best practices.
      • Assist in loading product, including large plants and pottery, into customer vehicles and trucks.
      • Setup and organize advertising signs and displays of merchandise on shelves, counters, tables, or the floor to attract customers and promote sales.
      • Assist with overall upkeep of PUA including plant watering and general tidying of sales area.
      • Pick customer orders, including locating selected merchandise and bringing to checkout, as necessary

      OTHER DUTIES

      • Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions as well as policies regarding payment and exchanges.
      • Answer questions regarding the Company and its’ products in easy-to-understand terms.
      • Execute the duties of the position in alignment with the Company Mission and Conduct Policies.
      • Use technology as required by the position.
      • Complete required annual trainings as assigned.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.

      EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

      • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
      • 0-2 years of related customer service experience preferred .
      • Prior experience in a nursery, landscape, horticulture environment preferred.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

      • Ability to talk to others to convey information effectively.
      • Basic math skills.
      • Outgoing personality and enjoys interactions with customers.
      • Excellent customer service skills.
      • Ability to adapt to varying tasks.
      • Ability to learn how to use handheld scanner and accurately scan product.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and other internal departments.
      • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
