Responsible for registering patients and accurately entering demographics, insurance information and all other information required by the hospital patient access department.

Responsible for insurance verification on all scheduled and walk-in patients.

Maintains clinic schedule and ensures all appointments are confirmed daily.

Provides assistance with reviewing patient charts for valid orders, current authorization and/or referral for date of service and updated History & Physical from referring provider.

Ensures lab charges and other patient charges are completed and entered accurately on a daily basis for all assigned departments.

Consistently follows hospital policy regarding verification of patient identification prior to obtaining specimen and ensures specimens are appropriately labeled with patient identifiers, date and time of collection and initials.

Summary/Objective
The Outpatient Clinic Coordinator will be responsible for performing clerical duties including maintaining the OP Clinic schedule, performing insurance verification, obtaining authorization and/or referral from referring provider for services ordered and coordinating communication between the clinic and provider offices.

High School diploma or equivalent
