      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Code medical records and documents accurately for inpatient and outpatient services
      - Select appropriate diagnoses and procedures codes using Computer Assisted Coding/Encoder Software
      - Address edits during coding and abstracting processes for accurate reimbursement
      - Maintain an approved work schedule and submit weekly volume logs
      - Attend monthly coding meetings and education sessions to stay current on guidelines

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Minimum completion of a CAHIIM approved coding certificate program or equivalent education and experience
      - Required: Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management and at least 1 year of outpatient coding experience
      - Familiarity with computer-assisted coding and/or automated encoder
      - Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
      - Ability to code at least four outpatient service types for promotion consideration

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - 3 years of acute care academic medical center outpatient coding experience
      - Demonstrated coding proficiency through the completion of coding assessments
      - Engagement in continuing education related to coding practices
      - Active participation in coding education sessions for skill enhancement
      - Familiarity with coding clinics and CPT assistant resources
