      Overview

      We are seeking an Outpatient Registration Scheduler , internally referred to as Centralized Scheduler or Admitting Scheduler, in our Admitting/Outpatient Registration Department. As an Outpatient Registration Scheduler in Admitting/Registration, you routinely schedule tests/procedures for cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event.

      Shift’s Available: Days

      Employment Type: Full Time

      Hours: 8-hour shift, 7:00am – 3:00pm

      Responsibilities

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

      • schedules clinic visits, surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur
      • coordinates with departments as necessary
      • ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations, if applicable
      • notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries
      • prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel

      Qualifications

      Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

      • high school graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires)
      • knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements
      • knowledge of medical terminology
      • effective written and verbal communication skills
      • ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines
      • analytical and problem-solving skills
      • customer service experience
      • strong clerical and computer skills

      Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

      • 1-2 years previous experience in a hospital environment
