- The Outreach Coordinator will serve as the primary person responsible for ensuring the agency establishes partnerships and maintains relationships with community-based organizations and other entities in the state. Assists with maintaining contacts, attending events, building collaborations for community related projects and programs that support the agency's mission and related functions.
- Assists in the planning and execution of training and development programs for the agency's constituent communities as it relates to the agency's community improvement and small business initiatives.
- Assists with collecting and compiling data to be included in reports, performs routine and complex data entry, maintains, and manages records, and performs other administrative functions.
- Under the guidance of the directors of Multicultural Affairs and Community Engagement and Small and Minority Business divisions, works to develop strategic outreach strategies to small, minority businesses and community-based organizations in the state, along with creating and maintaining a database of these organizations.
- Under the guidance of the Director of Public Information, creates a calendar of events and assists with the promotion of events, projects, and programs, and takes photos and videos at community events to be made available for posting on the agency's social media and other platforms.
- Other duties as required.
- A bachelor's degree and relevant experience with social science, community outreach, faith-based, religious, small business, or other related fields.
- May require overnight travel and work beyond 37.5hour/week and could include nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Required to report twice weekly to supervisor, submit weekly calendars and reports in addition to a monthly in-office report to agency leadership.
- Some community-based, remote work will be required.
- May be required to drive a state vehicle.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, organizational skills, interpersonal soft skills, etc.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to small business and community outreach.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
