- The post holder has a key role in offering practical and emotional support, with the aim of addressing health inequalities to the wide range of families registered with the Health Inclusion Team. These include Homeless, Gypsy and Traveller families; and families seeking asylum in Sheffield.
- Good standard of general education to GCSE level
- Experience of Microsoft Office Suite esp. Word, Excel
- oA recognised health, social or childcare qualification such as NNEB, B.TEC (higher Diploma) in nursery nursing or NVQ level 3 in social work, health or education or equivalent.
- oSafeguarding Adults/Children training.
- Knowledge and experience of direct work with families/individuals who have complex needs.
- Experience of working with children in a caring and supporting role
- Demonstrate an understanding of Trauma Informed Practice.
- Experience of working with children in a caring and supporting role.
- Experience of building relationships with others outside own working team.
- Awareness/ knowledge of Healthy Child Programme.
- An understanding of the issues affecting homeless families, Asylum Seekers and Gypsies experiencing significant levels of deprivation.
- Responsible approach to dealing with confidential issues.
- Ability to work on own initiative with the minimum of supervision and prioritize own workload.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral to provide feedback and advice to clients and professionals.

Job summary
The Health Inclusion Team provides an innovative nursing and health visiting service to a transient population. That is; people who live in homeless accommodation, domestic abuse refuges, anti-trafficking refuges, those seeking asylum and refugees (registered with the Mulberry Practice), Gypsies and Travellers.
As an Outreach Family Support Worker (OFSW), you will be expected to work in partnership with children, families, and individuals with complex needs to provide high quality family support. You will contribute to the development of the service for Homeless people, Gypsies and Travellers and Asylum Seekers and Refugees.
Part-time hours would be considered for the right candidate.
