Job Description

- Educate community members on upcoming unwinding of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency
- Promoting Medicaid awareness in the community served. (i.e. Discussing with members, attending events, sharing on social media)
- Collecting referrals for insurance and contacting consumers in a timely manner.
- Scheduling appointments
- Enrolling individuals in Medicaid or Marketplace Insurance.
- Assisting any community member interested in getting Medicaid or Marketplace insurance.
- High School Diploma
- Community Outreach experience preferred, but not necessary
- Microsoft Office 365 experience.
- Experience working with data.
- Work time will be exclusively community based
- Frequent local travel to and from pre-designated sites (reliable transportation required).
- Schedule is subject to applicant’s daytime availability and assignments.
- Work week will be 30 hours or less.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Southwest La Area Health Education Center is currently looking to fill Outreach Worker positions in Avoyelles Parish. Our goal is to decrease the amount of community members who may go without insurance due to the upcoming unwinding of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency. The intention of a community-based program is to loop community members to Health Navigators. This will be a contract position.
