  Overhead Crane Tech / Electrical Apprentice

  To be a successful overhead crane technician, you need a blend of mechanical, electrical, and safety knowledge, including experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of cranes, as well as familiarity with relevant regulations and safety protocols.

  Technical Knowledge:

  • Crane Mechanics: Understanding the mechanics of overhead cranes, including hoists, trolleys, bridges, and associated components.
  • Electrical Systems: Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, troubleshooting electrical faults, and understanding AC motor control systems.
  • Load Handling: Understanding crane capacity, safe load limits, and rigging techniques.
  • Wire Rope Inspection: Knowledge of wire rope construction, inspection, and maintenance.
