In a commercial role at JLR, you can reimagine the future of modern luxury. In teams focused on extraordinary customer experience, sustainability and forward-thinking. You’ll work alongside strategically-minded problem-solvers supporting the transformation of our iconic house of brands – Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar – and our heritage-rich JLR Classic range. Becoming a proud creator of the exceptional starts here.

      WHAT TO EXPECT

You will support the continuous improvement of logistics activity in Overseas delivering the highest standards of performance to end customers in the aftermarket.

Your specific focus will be on managing the inbound flow of material by air / sea / road into the diverse Overseas region, through regular review of the pipeline, planning of in and outbound volumes through the ports / airports and facilities, to minimise lead time and non-budgeted costs and maximise velocity and availability to end customers. You will monitor and support improvements to all elements of logistics performance. You will also co-ordinate business planning activity, including development and tracking of budgets, variance analysis and planning of capacity.

As such, you will collaborate both with 3PL partners / Importers / carriers in Overseas and the global Centres of Excellence leading business planning, the international supply chain and logistics performance.

You will report directly to the Head of Supply Chain Operations in Overseas and work closely with the Regional Logistics Managers, with dotted line accountability to the Global Quality, Compliance and Sustainability Centre of Excellence and the Process and CI Manager. You will work in close coordination with them as well as with other Quality & Process Analysts within the global organisation in a virtual, agile setup.

      Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

      • Secure an efficient material flow from port / airport of arrival, through active planning of material flows from global master facilities to all facilities within Overseas, co-ordinating regularly (at least weekly) with the sending facility / facilities and the global CoE, using available global sources of pipeline data
      • Regularly review with the Regional Logistics managers (at least weekly – more frequently if required) the inbound pipeline at container / truck / air freight consignment level with 3PLs and carriers, ensuring a seamless movement of goods to the receiving facilities within contracted lead times / agreed free container waiting days
      • Ensure plans are place in advance of any disruption to the forecast plan (e.g. exceptional volumes, delayed vessels, etc); work actively with the local logistics leadership team, carriers and 3PLs to minimise disruption to the smooth flow of product, minimise additional costs and maximise availability to customers
      • Collate weekly and monthly performance reports for each facility in the Overseas region for all contractual metrics, using global standards / systems, and reporting to the local logistics leadership team. Support the Regional Logistics Managers with Monthly Business Review (MBR) with each facility / provider, documenting and subsequently tracking agreed actions
      • Responsible for the continuous monitoring of logistics and operations planning processes and costs

      WHAT YOU'LL NEED

      • Team-oriented with a solid understanding of customer and team dynamics
      • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
      • Highly data driven, with experience in drawing data from multiple sources, analysing and interpreting it, drawing conclusions and making data-based decisions
      • Experience of international and / or domestic logistics operations

At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work.
