  Job Overview:

  Responsible for testing, commissioning, and verifying protection and control systems in high-voltage and Medium Voltage distribution, collector, and switching substations. This role supports safe and reliable energization of electrical infrastructure by ensuring all protective relays, control circuits, and automation systems function according to design and industry standards.

  PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform functional testing of protective relays (distance, differential, overcurrent, etc.)
  • Verify SCADA, control, and communication signals
  • Troubleshoot wiring and control logic from schematics and prints
  • Conduct insulation resistance, CT/PT ratio, and polarity tests
  • Support in-service energization and fault simulation tests
  • Maintain accurate test records and as-built documentation
  • Adhere to safety and NERC/utility standards during commissioning

  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of experience in substation P&C testing or commissioning
  • Familiarity with relay testing software (e.g., Omicron, Doble, SEL)
  • Familiarity with testing standards (NETA ATS-2021)
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC control circuits and substation schematics
  • Ability to travel and work in field environments
