    • Possess a master’s degree with certification as a school psychologist as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    • Must be well-organized, instructional leader with strong management, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Must be knowledgeable of best practice in areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment relative to both elementary and secondary levels

    • Remain current about the standards, rules and regulations that apply to Chapters 14, 15 & 16 of PA School code
    • Attend related professional education programs and make recommendations for program improvements
    • Within mandated time frames, conduct comprehensive psychological and psycho-educational assessments of students who are referred for multi-disciplinary evaluations
    • Make recommendations to the multi-disciplinary team regarding eligibility and identified needs
    • Develop the Evaluation Report for all initial referrals within mandated time frames and interpret results and implications with parents and professional staff.
    • Consult with the appropriate teacher to develop an IEP based upon the educational needs of the student
    • Consult with counselors, teachers, and administrators in the development of reevaluation reports, IEPs, 504 Service Agreements
    • Consult with special education teachers in their development of their reevaluation reports. For reevaluations, consult with the multi-disciplinary team to review existing evaluation data and identify if any additional data may be needed to determine continued need for special education and related services
    • Conduct Manifestation Determination Review, Functional Behavior Assessments, and assist in the development positive behavior support plans
    • At the request of administration conduct threat assessments and consultation regarding serious behavior incidents
    • Assist with professional development for staff and families
    • Promote implementation of Tier 1 Instruction across all content areas with recommendations for accommodation/modifications based on individual student needs.
    • Complete other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Education

      Organizational Relationship:
      The District School Psychologist shall be directly responsible to the Executive Director of Special Education and Superintendent for the execution of all responsibilities listed herein.
