      DESCRIPTION

      As a Packaging Engineer at Price Industries, you’ll play a key role in designing and optimizing packaging systems that ensure the safe, efficient, cost-effective, and visually appealing transport of our products. You’ll collaborate across teams to develop solutions that meet manufacturing standards, enhance customer satisfaction, and support our commitment to quality and innovation.


      What You’ll Do

      Packaging Design & Strategy

      • Develop and recommend packaging solutions that balance safety, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and brand presentation.
      • Conduct needs assessments, cost analyses, and implementation plans

      • Collaborate with Logistics/Shipping teams to evaluate packaging’s impact on freight efficiency, cube utilization, damage reduction for both safe and cost-effective transport.


      Prototype Development & Testing

      • Support the creation and testing of new packaging systems, materials, and configurations. Evaluate risks, define specifications, and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

      Quality & Compliance Audits

      • Conduct packaging trials and audits to validate performance. Define specifications for incoming and finished packaging materials and establish pallet configurations aligned with safety and quality standards. Lead root cause analysis on packaging-related field quality issues and recommend corrective/preventative actions.


      Labeling & Graphics Integration

      • Coordinate the integration of product labeling and packaging graphics to ensure consistency with brand and regulatory requirements.


      Cross-Functional Training & Support

      • Assist in training QA, Operations, and other teams on packaging standards and best practices to ensure smooth implementation and customer satisfaction.


      Industry Benchmarking

      • Research and evaluate industry trends and technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency in packaging operations.


      Additional Duties

      • Perform other related tasks as assigned to support business objectives.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field

      • 3+ years of experience in packaging design, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting

      • Expertise in packaging technologies and engineering principles

      • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for packaging and labeling

      • Strong analytical skills to include financial impacts of inputs and technology related to packaging, procurement, and innovations

      • Proficiency in packaging software and Microsoft Office tools

      • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

      • Ability to conduct benchmarking and interpret packaging system data

      • Experience with lean and continuous improvement methodologies a plus
