Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join the dedicated paediatric Radiology Department.
You will be joining our friendly, flexible and welcoming paediatric department that encompasses 3 general x-ray rooms, DEXA, EOS scanner, CT and Spect CT scanners, theatre and mobile imaging. The x-ray department supports a range of specialities including neurosurgery, oncology, abdominal, vascular, forensic and musculo-skeletal work.
Main duties of the job
Provide a high standard of radiographic imaging whilst ensuring that patients receive high quality care, working within the Trust values, using professional judgment skills.
Have experience when imaging complex clinical cases such as multiple trauma or critically ill patients deciding exposure factors and other image manipulation techniques to ensure optimum images.
Be experienced in specialist imaging areas such as CT MRI or Fluoroscopy.
Provide and receive complex and sensitive communication to patients families and carers. Communicating with patients with learning difficulties and complex needs effectively.
Assess the patients clinical need and level of co-operation to performing radiographic procedures to ensure the highest possible diagnostic image is produced at first attempt to minimise radiation risk to the patient.
Perform the initial radiographic assessment of the radiographic images and to seek advice from senior staff if necessary, prior to the patient leaving the department.
