      MSE are looking for an experienced Band 6 Paediatric Nurse , who is committed to the delivery of compassionate high quality care.       Our Neptune Paediatric Unit has 16 beds catering for children aged 0-16 requiring medical, surgical and day-stay admission.

      We have a designated PAU consisting of 6 beds, isolation cubicle and treatment room. Neptune Paediatric Unit is fully supported by a large team of multi-disciplinary professionals including Doctors, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, qualified play staff/specialists, Paediatric Educators and Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialists.

      Main duties of the job

      To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate Compassion, professionalism and leadership qualities.

      • In liaison with the Unit Manager and fellow Band 6 Nurses, the nurse will lead and coordinate a dedicated team of nursing and support staff in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care.
      • In the absence of the Unit Manager (Band 7), the Band 6 nursing team will be responsible for the effective deployment of ward/department resources (including manpower), and will be able to follow escalation policies in a timely and comprehensive manner.
      • The nurse will assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of Governance systems in the ward/department relating to Risk Management, Health and Safety and Controls Assurance.
      • You will be responsible and accountable for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision for a defined group of patients.
