- Assist in the delivery of high quality nurse led ADHD clinics for diagnosis and treatment, working alongside other clinical colleagues to ensure the quality of care to patients is maximised
- Work across professional and organisational boundaries.
- Work closely with Developmental Paediatricians to provide support for children and young people with diagnosed neurodevelopmental disabilities
- Give advice and implement patient care in an area which requires specific clinical knowledge, skills and experience
- To carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans and the setting of care within allocated resources.
- Focus on the delivery and maintenance of clinical excellence;
- Provide an expert consultancy service to patients, carers and colleagues; plan, implement and evaluate evidence based care;
- Contribute to the development of the service by taking an active role in generating and disseminating knowledge across the organisation
- Facilitate and provide education and training to staff and students.
- Registered Nurse, LD, RSCN, RMN with current NMC Registration
- Educated to Master's level or equivalent experience
- Recognised Management & Leadership qualification, or willing to work towards
- Clinical Examination Qualification, or Academic ADHD qualification, or willing to work towards
- V300 Nurse Prescribing, or willing to work towards Knowledge & Experience
- Recognised Teaching Qualification, or willing to work towards
- Advanced knowledge within Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and relevant practical experience
- Knowledge of clinical skills required to undertake the role
- Knowledge of current professional & clinical issues
- Knowledge of Safeguarding Children procedures
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance Agenda
- Knowledge of how audit may influence quality of patient care
- Substantial years post registration experience
- Substantial years Neurodevelopmental Disabilities experience
- Knowledge of and participation in audit
- Ability to negotiate and demonstrate a sound problem solving approach to work issues

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available in the Developmental Paediatric Service, St Helens.
The team are launching the Nurse led ADHD pathway for diagnosis and assessment and are looking to recruit two new Band 7 Specialist Paediatric Nurses to join the team.
Candidates will be nurses with experience and knowledge of children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly ADHD.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to practice autonomously at an advanced level in the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care internal and external to the Trust. The role blends a significant proportion of direct, higher level clinical care with education, research and management activities.
The post holder will undertake research in a specialist area that focuses on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers;

We provide the Mersey Regional Burns & Plastic Surgery Unit at Whiston Hospital and the Spinal Injuries Unit at Southport Hospital to more than 4 million people across the whole of Merseyside, West Lancashire, Cheshire, Isle of Man and North Wales.
