- provide evidenced based, high quality assessment and care to children and their families attending the Emergency Department and the paediatric assessment area

- NMC Registered Nurse in relevant field of practice (or within 6 months of completing a validated BSc or MSc course, resulting in NMC registration)
- Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor qualification or willingness to complete
- Additional post-registration qualification relevant to field of practice
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Role Specific Training relevant to specialty of the post
- Teaching Qualification
- Leadership Qualification
- Knowledge and skill to plan, deliver, and evaluate high quality, evidence-based nursing care to a group of patients within the speciality of the post
- Experience of working with patients, and those that matter to them, from a range of diverse cultures and backgrounds

- Knowledge and skill in infection prevention and control principles and procedures

We are excited to announce that our Paediatric Emergency Department at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and our Paediatric Assessment Unit at Calderdale Royal Hospital are looking for Registered Children's Nurse to join our friendly, supportive and growing team as a rotational band 5 Staff Nurse. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and be part of an evolving and developing service.
The Departments provide cares for children with acute and urgent physical and mental health needs, as well as complex and long term conditions.
There are opportunities for professional development and preceptorship programmes to support and aid development. The departments have a clinical educator who provides Emergency nursing specific support and training.

Main duties of this role include: providing high quality nursing care and supporting team members to maintain best practice to all patients and visitors whilst following hospital and departmental policies. The safety of self, colleagues, patients and visitors in the Emergency Department and paediatric assessment area
