Job Description

In this role, you will operate a high-pressure pot liquid painting machine to apply paint on structural steel. You will be responsible for using and reading blueprints to ensure quality finished painted parts. The frames will be pre-assembled, requiring you to prime paint, apply undercoating, and top coat finish paint. Additionally, you will mix paints to match customer specifications and use a computer to view work procedures, blueprints, due dates, and special instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-pressure pot liquid painting machine on structural steel.
• Use and read blueprints to perform quality finished painted parts.
• Prime paint, apply undercoating, and top coat finish paint on pre-assembled frames.
• Mix paints and match customer specifications.
• Utilize computer to view work procedures, blueprints, due dates, and special instructions.

Essential Skills

• Industrial painting and finishing.
• Experience with liquid paint application.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform quality inspections.
• Competency in using a computer for viewing instructions and blueprints.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure and performing basic math functions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in liquid painting on structural steel or in a manufacturing facility.
• Sandblasting experience is a plus.
• Comfort with learning and using overhead lifting devices.

Work Environment

You will work in a large open factory/plant floor with dim lighting due to welding stations. The building is equipped with large overhead cranes and good ventilation. Each painting station is spacious to accommodate the size of the products. There is room for advancement within the company.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LAKE CRYSTAL, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
