      WAVE is currently looking for a Palletizer to join our team!

      Primary Responsibilities:

      This position is responsible for performing the stacking and packaging of finished goods prior to shipment to customers. This may include, but is not limited to; sealing, banding, shrink-wrapping, and lifting product.

      General Responsibilities:

      • Operate conveyor system to sort finished goods and either hand stack, or utilize air-assist equipment, to pick and place cartons on a wood pallet.
      • Place waterproof paper on pallets prior to shipment.
      • Monitor automatic glue machine operations.
      • Make corrections to unsealed or deformed cartons prior to shipment.
      • Follow standard operating procedures for labeling and number of cartons per pallet.
      • Complete all required paperwork and documentation; including quality, scrap, housekeeping and end-of-shift production.
      • Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times.
      • Perform all work in a safe manner; use proper lock-out procedures during repairs or machine adjustments. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and make certain that all safety equipment is in proper working order.
      • Perform these and other related duties as assigned or directed.
      • Actively participate in communication and WAVE culture.

      Other responsibilities may include assisting the production department in other packaging-related job functions, such as preparing cartons and other raw material, assisting with the conveyance of long-length material and other packaging requirements.

      In addition to the above general responsibilities, a palletizer must preserve a safe work environment and work in a safe manner following all safety SOPs.

      Measures of Effectiveness; including, but not limited to:

      • Safety – OSHA rate, compliance to regulations/policies, evidence of risk reduction, engagement in 8-Step Safety Process, near-miss reporting
      • Quality – Ability to recognize defects and implement corrective actions, correct packaging of finished goods
      • Productivity – Downtime %, cartons per hour
      • Communication – Shift handoff and line preparation, Gemba, kaizen event participation

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or GED
      • Preferred; knowledge and experience of machines in manufacturing environment, or similar
      • Able to lift a maximum of 40 pounds
      • Able to stand for 8-10 hours per day in assigned work area
      • Background check required
