What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide litigation support to division attorneys, including trial and deposition preparation
- Draft legal documents and handle electronic discovery
- Conduct complex legal research and review agency records
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop legal strategies and summarize relevant documents
- Manage case documents, files, and exhibits in a fast-paced environment
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Combination of four years of experience through paralegal certification, a two-year paralegal degree, or paraprofessional experience supporting an attorney
- One year of experience as a Paralegal 1 in Washington State Service
- Proficient in preparing legal pleadings and correspondence
- Strong organizational skills for managing case documents and tracking discovery
- Ability to research legal issues and verify citations for accuracy
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working in a high-volume litigation environment
- Familiarity with juvenile dependency law and relevant legal procedures
- Additional certifications or training in specialized legal areas
