- Under direction of in-house legal counsel, develop contracts (mostly by utilizing company approved templates or modifying same), processing, revising, tracking, and filing agreements; including, but not limited to: agreements for professional services such as consulting, information technology and non-technical services; slot and table games agreements, advertising agreements, site licenses, non-disclosure agreements, and transportation agreements, among others.
- Conduct basic and intermediate legal, regulatory and business-related research for in-house counsel and clients as needed.
- Ensure priority and rush assignments are handled effectively and efficiently.
- Assist with due diligence investigations and/or requests by gaming control boards in various jurisdictions or others in connection with Company transactions.
- Consistent communication during review process of the status of assignments to in-house counsel, business clients and vendors in order to keep them informed.
- Obtain and maintain basic contract drafting knowledge.
- Provide basic guidance to clients, under direction of in-house legal counsel, on contractual relationships and the impact of such relationships on Company’s strategies and mission statements.
- Negotiate agreements with limited authority to make final decisions on legal issues under direction of in-house counsel.
- Assist with special projects.
- Should possess between 4 and 7 years of experience at a law firm, in-house corporate legal department or equivalent legal experience.
- Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Self-motivated and efficient, with good business judgment and analytical skills.
- Ability to efficiently manage large workload and react promptly to multiple deadlines while meeting personal and team objectives.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to interact effectively at all levels and divisions of the Company.
- Must possess working knowledge of legal terminology and principles.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Must be able to work with highly confidential and sensitive documents and information and maintain such confidentiality to protect the Company.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access and Adobe Professional skills.
- Basic knowledge of contract boilerplate language and ability to understand and interpret terms and conditions proposed by vendors and whether such terms should be negotiated.
The position of Paralegal will be responsible for providing day-to-day paralegal support to in-house counsel in multiple jurisdictions primarily regarding commercial contracts with different levels of complexity including, but not limited to, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, processing, revising, tracking, and filing of agreements as well as providing assistance with special projects and performing other operational assignments.
