      The Paralegal II - Physician Services Administration works with the Physician Services Legal Department, its General Counsel, Associate General Counsels, and other department paralegals concerning Physician/Physician Group contract drafting and negotiation, corporate healthcare compliance matters, contract repository management, and all tasks associated therewith.

      This positon can be fully remote.

      Responsibilities

      A day in the life of a Paralegal II - Physician Services Administration at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

      • Physician/Physician Group Contracting: Assist with the timely drafting, review, revision and negotiation of physician/physician group agreements. Review, revise, and/or draft and negotiate professional services agreements and employment agreements, including amendments to existing engagements and termination/non-renewal letters, under the guidance of attorneys, on a timely basis. Responsible for the collection, organization, and review of due diligence related to such transactions.
      • Workload Management: Be detail-oriented with the ability to interpret contractual provisions and identify potential risk issues/conflicts during the due diligence and drafting process. Responsible for managing and tracking assignments via digital tools. Have excellent time management skills, with an ability to prioritize and ensure progress on multiple projects simultaneously.
      • Collaboration with Physician Enterprise/Key Stakeholders: Attend meetings on a regular basis, including weekly meetings with Physician Enterprise counterparts and monthly physician compensation review committee meetings. Identify key stakeholders on transactions, build rapport, and ensure input/guidance is aligned throughout the transaction. Understand the importance and appreciate the value of effective communication with Physician Enterprise colleagues and key stakeholder partners.
      • Digital Tools: Have strong computer skills and a high level of comfort with varied software tools including, but not limited to, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and contract lifecycle management/repository tools. Be able to learn and use novel software programs quickly.
      • Contract Maintenance Support: Assist in the administration of Agiloft, HMH¿s Contract Lifecycle Management Software. Upload documents, field questions, quality check the input of all documents, and assist in education of team members.
      • Process Improvement: Work with Physician Enterprise, Physician Enterprise Legal Department, along with its leadership, to identify, further refine, and address opportunities for improvement in work processes.
      • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance and support to attorneys (calendar/schedule conference calls and notetaking ).
      • Work Location: Whether fully remote or hybrid, be comfortable with significant colleague interaction via digital means.
      • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
      • Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

      Qualifications

      Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

      • Associate's Degree.
      • Minimum of 5 years of legal/paralegal experience.
      • Strong knowledge of legal principles and practices, legal research techniques, legal terminology, and legal communication principles and practices.
      • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Proficient computer skills that include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

      Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

      • Prior experience with a hospital or health system.
      • Bachelor's degree.

      Licenses and Certifications Required:

      • Current and valid Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.
