      Support the Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department in a wide range of responsibilities, including: i) administration of Ariba; ii) handling small claims; iii) providing support for Privacy initiatives; iv) filing of state licenses ; v) managing discovery and subpoena compliance; v) providing administrative support to Regulatory Affairs on state and federal regulatory and legislative matters and vii) general ad hoc duties for the department as needed.

      Ariba Responsibilities

      • Support department staff in processing contracts in Ariba which include data input and/or research.
      • Correct any errors and update files in Ariba. Create and update Ariba reports as needed.

      Manage Small Claims

      • Review small claim complaints filed against U.S. Cellular.
      • Investigate and draft court documents necessary to respond to complaint including filing any cross complaints.
      • Coordinate U.S. Cellular's representation before the court. If representation must be in person, coach those Associates representing U.S. Cellular.

      Support the Director of Privacy

      • Compile and execute documents necessary to comply with annual CPNI certifications.
      • Collaborate with Human Resources to obtain reports related to failed privacy training obligations.
      • Produce and issue notifications on a quarterly basis to those Associates who fail to meet the privacy training requirements.

      Licensing/Compliance Filings

      • Prepare and file annual Creditor Sales and Sales Finance Company filings, biannual state Portable Electronic Insurance filings and the Second Hand Trade In filings.
      • Maintain the filing schedule for several state compliance filing requirements.

      Support of Regulatory Affairs

      • Prepare and maintain annual U.S. Cellular city and state fact sheets for use with key elected officials.
      • Perform administrative duties concerning management of the U.S. Cellular Political Action Committee such as check requests for campaign contributions and list of active employee participation.
      • Provide assistance in logging and maintain reports concerning active federal and state legislation and regulatory matters affecting the company.
      • Assist in preparation of certain reports relating to the FCC Lifeline program.
      • Discovery and Subpoena Compliance
      • Compile and coordinate U.S. Cellular’s response to discovery, subpoena, civil investigative demands, etc.
      • Manage creation and distribution of Hold Notices.
      • Work with Associates to preserve and collect responsive documents.

      Legal Research and Response

      • Perform legal research on Westlaw.
      • Respond to legal questions from Associates by coordinating with inside and outside attorneys for advice on such topics as bankruptcy and collections.
      • Maintain department website that houses policies, contract templates, forms, etc.

      #LI-RM1 Salary Range $30.00 - $46.00 / houly

      • Paralegal certificate from accredited paralegal program required but may be obtained within 1 year of hire date.)
      • Bachelor’s degree preferred
      • 2 - 4 years of experience in a corporate environment preferred
      • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required and Ariba preferred.
