Job Description

- Reviewing/commenting on/negotiating Global Advisory confidentiality agreement and simple engagement letters and terms of business;
- Assisting in connection with horizon scanning for legal and regulatory change;
- Coordinating the response to DSARs
- Assisting with maintenance of trademark portfolios and name protection matters (including domain name disputes)
- Assisting with administration tasks in connection with ongoing litigation
- providing support in connection with ad hoc projects as required;
- providing legal advice to other group functions, including Finance and HR;
- providing support to other senior lawyers in the department as required;
- Excellent written skills;
- Excellent inter-personal skills (ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels (both internally and externally);
- Ability to build effective relationships, including as a member of a small team;
- First class organisational skills, good attention to detail and accuracy are essential;
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
- Willingness to take on a diverse workload and to adapt to and embrace new challenges;
- Experience of M&A transaction advisory work, either in private practice or existing in-house role at an investment bank would be helpful;

In addition to non-contentious matters, the Group Legal team also has responsibility for assisting with the management of litigation, data privacy issues and name protection matters (contentious and non-contentious). Whilst a significant portion of the work of the team relates to the UK business of the group, the department provides material legal support to other Rothschild & Co offices around the globe and is responsible for coordinating the legal function across the group as a whole.
