      This position is located in the San Francisco Office within the Antitrust Division (Division). The incumbent serves as a Paralegal Specialist performing legal duties in support of attorneys engaged in antitrust cases and matters.

      Qualifications


      To qualify at the GS-11 level your resume must reflect at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level. Specialized experience is experience that has provided you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position as described above, and that is typically in or related to this position being filled. This experience must be identified in your resume. Examples of qualifying specialized experience at the GS-09 level include:
      • Analyzing and evaluating case files to determine worthiness;
      • Noting and correcting case file deficiencies (e.g., missing documents, inconsistent material, leads not investigated) before sending the case on to the trial attorney;
      • Reviewing and analyzing available precedents to cases under consideration for use in presenting case summaries to trial attorneys;
      • Gathering, sorting, classifying, and interpreting data to discover patterns of possible questionable activity;
      • Interviewing potential witnesses to gather information;
      • Taking depositions;
      • Testifying in court concerning relevant data; and
      • Training junior paralegals or other legal support staff.
      OR

      A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M., if related.

      A combination of specialized experience and education, which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 3 full years.
