Job Description
- Req#: 25-36986
- Evaluate External Appeal applications for eligibility based on Insurance Law Article 49.
- Request necessary information from appropriate parties and respond to inquiries regarding the appeal process.
- Investigate complaints against regulated insurance companies, applying mandates in Insurance Law and approved policy provisions.
- Communicate findings to stakeholders upon completing investigations.
- Screen requests for External Appeals in accordance with the Federal No Surprises Act.
- Screen requests under Insurance Law, regulations, and established protocols.
- Act as liaison with consumers and representatives of financial entities through written and verbal communication.
- Maintain and organize electronic case files.
- Research, process, and resolve consumer and provider complaints.
- Follow up on deliverables from internal stakeholders.
- Handle correspondence, calls, emails, and other communication with internal and external parties.
- Prepare reports and other documents as needed.
- Assist with special projects and research.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Paralegal Certificate.
- Eligible to work in New York State.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand legal mandates and provisions.
- Strong interpersonal and project management skills, including managing multiple time-sensitive and complex files.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High reliability, with strong time and attendance discipline.
