- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6 months to 1 year of related EMS experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of 2 years driving experience
- Valid State of Connecticut Paramedic License (experience preferred)
- Valid Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advance Life Support certifications
- Valid Prehospital Trauma Life Support certification (optional)
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination
- Responds to instructions from emergency medical dispatchers and performs assignments in a timely manner
- Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls calmly, efficiently, and promptly to administer necessary life support, either basic or acute to patients in accordance with State protocol while in a pre-hospital setting and during transport to the hospital
- Operates emergency vehicles in accordance with regulations and company policy
- Assures proper stocking, re-stocking and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment
- Provides accurate and timely written and typed communication on patient disposition
- Responsible for performing various duties at base locations; i.e., general cleanliness of the base location including sleeping quarters
- Attends company mandated staff sessions
