      This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.

      Lincoln (Nebraska) Fire and Rescue Department is committed to delivering high-quality emergency medical care to our community. We pride ourselves on professionalism, rapid response, and compassionate care.

      We are seeking skilled and dedicated Paramedics to join our team. You will be responsible for providing advanced medical care and transportation for individuals in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. This position requires sound clinical judgement , strong communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations.

      Duties will also involves providing standby services at special public events; participating in a variety of public education programs and topics related to the emergency medical field;

      SELECTED CANDIDATES MUST SUBMIT TO, AND SUCCESSFULLY PASS, A SUBSTANCE ABUSE TEST.

      Applicants who successfully meet minimum requirements will be scheduled for the on-line written exam on Monday, June 9, 2025. Detailed test information will be sent by e-mail to qualified candidates after the posted closing date.




      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

      NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
      Possession of a valid driver’s license.

      Possession of a current National Registry Paramedic license at the time of application and successfully obtain a State of Nebraska Paramedic license within one month of hire; or possession of a State of Nebraska Paramedic license at the time of application. We will conditionally accept applications from medic program graduates who are waiting on National Registry

      Possession of a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate and Health Care Provider (CPR) certificate.

      Successful completion of Lincoln Fire & Rescue Preceptor Program and the probationary requirements established by the department prior to completion of probation.

      Candidates must meet physical requirements as established by the City of Lincoln.
