- Registered Paramedic.
- Evidence of continual learning and professional development.

- An appreciation of the nature of Primary Care prescribing, concepts of rational prescribing and strategies for improving prescribing.
- Awareness of telephone triage assessment.

- Clinical examination skills.
- Knowledge of needs of patients with long-term conditions.

Job summary
Harpenden Health Primary Care Network (PCN) is looking for a registered and experienced Paramedic Practitioner to complement our clinical team. The role is expected to develop over time with engagement and supervision.
Experience in General Practice desirable.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be fully integrated into our clinical teams, providing a holistic approach to acute care, chronic disease management, anticipatory case management and promotion of self-care across our three practices and within the community. Supporting excellence in the care we provide in accordance with best practice, evidence-based medicine and targets will be essential as part of collective teamworking.

This role will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of their care in a holistic manner. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within Harpenden Health PCN.
The PCN Paramedic will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice teams to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. There is an expectation that training across the practices is maintained to an expected level, with use of appropriate equipment and facilities as directed by the post holder who is an autonomous Allied Healthcare Professional and who will be part of PCN support to practices. They would be expected to attend to patients within a defined list of conditions, including triage, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to deliver quality patient services in conjunction with the daily duty Doctor for urgent care or an allocated Doctor for chronic disease management.
