- Provide parent education and family support services that focus on child development, family well-being, parent-child interactions, and parenting behaviors to support each parent’s role as his or her child’s lifelong educator.
- BA in social work, human services, family services, early childhood education, or a related field.
- Must pass a background check that includes fingerprinting.
- Bi-Lingual in Spanish (preferred)
- Certification as a Parents as Teachers home visitor (training provided upon hire)
- Full-time (40 hr. week)
- 12 months
- $13.00 - $20.50
- New employees go through a 45-day introductory period as part of onboarding after which benefits will begin, and leave can be used.
- Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with families.
- Engage in goal-oriented family partnerships that demonstrates on-going respect for their individual culture, language, values, and family structure.
- Conduct personalized, regularly scheduled home visits with families based on established goals (four hours evening visits required weekly).
- Utilize the Parents as Teachers curriculum to support the family’s engagement in activities that support their child’s growth and development.
- Monitor and support families in achieving outcomes as outlined by grant requirements and program priorities utilizing a strength-based approach.
- Support families in accessing community resources that enhance family well-being.
- Empower families to be an advocate for their child at school or with caregivers.
- Administer ASQ’s at identified intervals with the family, along with annual vision and hearing screenings, and make appropriate referrals for identified concerns.
- Maintain accurate records using both paper files and electronic data systems.
- Maintain confidentiality of family information/records.
- Participate in weekly teaming, ongoing reflective supervision, and other professional development opportunities as outlined.
- Assist in the development and implementation of group connections and community playgroup.
- Assist with early learning recruitment and preschool enrollment events as requested.
- Engage in collaborative relationships with community partners.
- Additional duties as assigned.
