Position Description for Park County School District Middle/High School Principal

The Park County School District in Fairplay, Colorado seeks a highly qualified Middle/High School Principal. The successful candidate will assume the responsibilities of the position no later than July 1, 2025.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development, has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the superintendent in identifying and screening the candidates.

Location: Fairplay, Colorado, 85 miles west of Denver

Fairplay, Colorado is a small, historic mountain community located at nearly 10,000 ft. above sea level and is the county seat of Park County. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and landscapes, the area supports a healthy lifestyle and is a popular destination for outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, and hunting.

students so that they reach their learning potential

The district specifically seeks a secondary principal who:

• Supports educators with resources, training, and high impact, relevant professional development
• Communicates openly and builds trust through honesty and accountability
• Engages meaningfully with students, teachers, families, staff and community
• Demonstrates the ability to engage stakeholders in establishing school-wide behavior expectations and supports
• Provides innovative approaches to preparing students for careers, college, and life beyond school
• Balances multiple perspectives and makes informed, student-centered choices
• Works collaboratively to forward the goals of both South Park MS/HS and the South Park School District.
• Has experience implementing best practices and strategies for school-wide early intervention and student support

Requirements:

• Prior administrative experience in a secondary school preferred
• Colorado Administrator or Principal license (or ability to obtain) required

Salary: $85,036 - $95,836 per salary schedule based on experience and education

175-day contract
