- Florida’s natural and cultural resources and natural resource management techniques
- Cash register operation and reconciliation of receipts
- General maintenance of facilities including but not limited to mowing, weed eating, pressure washing and painting
- Basic mechanical repairs including but not limited dot conduction oil changes and troubleshooting mechanical failure of vehicles and equipment
- Basic plumbing repairs and installation
- Basic carpentry including but not limited to fence and boardwalk repair
- Basic electrical repair including but not limited to troubleshooting electrical systems and the installation and replacement of electrical devices and fixtures
- Using and maintaining various hand tools, power tools, equipment and operations of vehicles
- Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
- Good customer service and conflict resolution
- Enforcing rules, policies and procedures in a courteous and tactful manner
- Operating a computer
- The operation of watercraft in a variety of weather conditions
- Participate in all aspects of natural resource management including but not limited to non-native plant removal which may include application of herbicide

Home to one of the world’s largest and deepest freshwater springs, the sapphire water of Wakulla Springs boasts manatees, alligators and a host of diverse wildlife that can be viewed from a riverboat or the diving platform. Visitors can also marvel at a 1930s Spanish style lodge with its period furniture, original elevator and colorful painted ceilings that depict wildlife and Old Florida scenes.

$2,730 per month
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory. Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominantly responsible, for failure to comply.
VISITOR SERVICES – Provides natural and cultural history interpretive programs and services via boat tours, guided walks, evening programs and other presentations. Attempts to resolve visitor complaints while maintaining good public relations. Demonstrates a team work ethic and maintains good relations with park visitors and co-workers
ADMINISTRATION – Prepares forms and reports on a wide range of subjects including fees, receipts, visitor use, visitor contacts, patrols, wildlife sighting and population counts, accidents, crisis and miscellaneous incidents, vehicle, boat, and equipment operations, property records, p-cards, purchase orders and requisitions, etc. Answers telephone, operate radio equipment, personal computer and maintain logs. Answers correspondence and maintains park files.
MAINTENANCE – Constructs, maintains, and repairs small buildings, fences, trails, service roads, fire lanes, boardwalks, campsites, picnic sites, boat ramp, docks, and all other necessary facilities. Maintains cleanliness of grounds and facilities. Maintains and repairs vehicles and equipment.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT – Participates in all aspects of the park natural resource management program, including the application of prescribed fire and removal of exotic and nuisance plant and animal species. Participates in all aspects of cultural and historic resource preservation.
PROTECTION – Works in a safe manner and uses proper PPE for all assigned tasks. Enforces park rules, regulations and other related guidelines in a courteous manner. Investigates and prepares forms and reports on safety and miscellaneous incidents. Prevents accidents and injuries by timely reporting and correction of hazards.
OTHER – Performs other related duties as required.
